Published : 04/05/2022 09:30:00

SPS Italia 2022 is the number one event in Italy for smart industry automation. The event will be held from 24 to 26 May at the Parma exhibition centre and will be the national window on the SPS Smart Production Solution event in Nuremberg, a European reference point for development and innovation in business production.

Industrial automation solutions will be on show in exhibition halls 3, 5 and 6, while in halls 4 and 7 there will be solutions focused on Digital & Software, Robotics and Mechatronics, Additive Manufacturing and Advanced Automation.

Find out how to participate below and visit the Digimax G067 stand in Hall 5.

What are the main topics discussed during SPS Italia?

This year, SPS Italia is presenting itself with the claim "People, Technologies, Perspectives", connected elements that look at the different aspects of innovation such as sustainability, skills and technology.

District 4.0

Demonstration spaces, special projects and rooms for scientific conferences, training workshops and round tables through innovative demos and enabling technologies to talk about Advanced automation, Software, Robotics and Mechatronics. The Digital & Software area will also feature a new focus on infrastructures for communication in Factory 4.0 with use cases of 5G in the manufacturing industry.

Additive Manufacturing

A new area dedicated to additive manufacturing with a focus on business production, the study of materials, prototyping and digitalisation. The project is supported by Formnext, the Messe Frankfurt Group's reference exhibition for additive technologies.

Green initiatives

Various initiatives in collaboration with ANIE Energia, +CIM4.0, MADE Competence Center 4.0 and Porsche Consulting on the key topics of the event and looking at the themes of Robotics and Industrial Automation with a more sustainable outlook.

Energy efficiency

Within District 4.0, there will be an opportunity to obtain details and advice on the green transformation in industry. In fact, there will be an information desk coordinated by ANIE Energia for a consultancy service where solutions will be presented for the working environment aimed at the development of sustainable mobility, the use of renewable energy to reduce consumption and waste. The focus will therefore be on AMR (Automated Mobile Robots), AGVs, recharging systems, high energy efficiency solutions, electric vehicles and sustainable logistics solutions.

A focus on electric mobility. What are the main trends?

The emobility market will be the driver for green transport change. The European Commission has adopted a package of measures to enable the EU's climate, energy, land use and transport policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels. The aim is therefore to bring Europe to zero climate impact by 2050.

The car market will therefore have to confirm a reduction in emissions of 55% from 2030 and 100% from 2035 compared to 2021 levels and as a result, all new cars registered from 2035 onwards will be zero-emission, battery electric vehicles (BEVs). Several vehicle manufacturers have already announced business plans that look to the future with colossal investments in switching from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles, and many car manufacturers will stop selling internal combustion engine cars in Europe by 2030.

So which are the main industrial markets affected by this profound change?
