AC/DC BATTERY CHARGER ADAPTERS
AC/DC battery chargers: types, operation, and configuration
An AC/DC battery charger adaptor is a power supply that converts and transfers current, frequency, and voltage to another device, using the input power of the mains supply.
AC/DC adaptors, also called plug-in power supplies or AC/DC converters, can recharge electrical devices equipped with lead-acid and lithium batteries, or that have no other power source. Unlike an integrated power supply, the connection is made outside the component.
Specifically, AC/DC adapters consist of an alternating current powered unit that converts power to direct current to power the device: each battery charger has its own power rating and specific connector, so it cannot be used universally.
