What is an OLED display?
OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) displays represent an advanced technology in the field of displays. Unlike LCDs, which require an external backlight, OLED displays are composed of very thin organic layers capable of emitting their own light. Images are generated when an electric current passes through organic material, allowing direct control over brightness and color at the pixel level. This feature allows for great brightness, high contrast, brilliant colors and a wide viewing angle (up to 175°), making OLED displays ideal for both industrial and consumer applications.
Graphic OLED displays
Graphic OLED displays are made of extremely thin organic layers capable of emitting their own light and images are reproduced when an electric current passes through the organic compound. The intensity of the color is directly linked to the amount of electrical energy that reaches the pixel.
Unlike graphic LCD modules that polarize light from an external source, graphic OLED displays produce light independently thanks to LED technology.
Thanks to the number of different resolutions it is possible to adapt the graphic OLED display to the most varied industrial applications.
The advantages of graphic OLED displays
Thanks to LED technology, OLED graphic displays have numerous advantages, including:
- High brightness: thanks to the emission of its own light;
- Wider viewing angle up to 175°;
- Most advanced technology.
OLED screens are the ideal graphic displays for consumer and industrial applications such as, automotive control panels, medical devices, household appliances or home automation products and more.
What is a character OLED module
Character OLEDs are compact displays widely used, especially in industrial environments thanks to their operating temperature range between -40°C and +80°C.
Thanks to OLED technology, these modules are able to emit their own light, managing complex parameters such as contrast and tone.
Character displays are characterized by specific standard formats that are integrated into more complex interfaces.
Raystar OLED character displays
Among Raystar's character OLED displays it is possible to find the option in yellow and white, i.e. the two most important and recommended colors in terms of long display life and good readability.
Raystar character OLED display modules include COB and COG technologies. Both technologies involve a chip that controls the screen, but in COB (Chip on Board) technology the chip is installed directly on the motherboard; in COG (Chip on Glass) technology, however, the chip is directly bonded to the glass.
The character OLED display resolution options offered by Digimax 16x2 and 20x4 have 6800, 8080, SPI and I2C interfaces available.
The OLED character display module is an ideal display for industrial applications such as audio, POS, measurement equipment or any character display needs.
