Tactile switches or Tact switches are an on/off electronic switch that is only on when there is some pressure put on it or when the button is pressed.
Tact switches work with user interaction with the button or switch when it makes contact with the control panel beneath, in most cases this is usually a printed circuit board (PCB).
They have a small footprint and come in many sizes and gram forces and they are commonly used in many consumer electronic devices such as Keyboards, Interface control panel applications and telecommunication networks.
Tactile switches are the perfect interface solution for many applications including automotive (airbags, heating/AC, door handles), aerospace (main cabin lights, flight attendant buttons) and industrial (control panels, instrumentation).
