Products in compliance with European standards

Safer and more efficient power supplies

In recent years, the European directives in the field of power supplies have followed a precise line to achieve a eco design of all new products sold in Europe, to achieve important goals:

  • improve energy efficiency of products
  • electrical safety
  • electromagnetic compatibility

Compliance with current regulations

Particular attention to compliance with current regulations is set by our main supplier, MEAN WELL, which maintains constant conformity with the CE regulations by the requirements of the 2002/95/EC - ROHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and 2006/122/EC - PFOS (PerFluoroOctane Sulfonates), as well as the restrictions according to the SVHC/REACH declarations of conformity.

The CE approval mark for outdoor power supplies up to 250W, can only be granted if the products meet these requirements:

    • ERP - Energy Related Products: it replaces the previous EUP regulation of 2005, establishing strict criteria in terms of energy saving under "no-load" conditions of the appliance.
    • LDV - Low Voltage Differential: The directive deals with ensuring a uniform level of electrical safety by preventing the risk to the user and things, through application and documented prescriptions relating to the safety of the appliance.
    • EMC - Electromagnetic Compatibility: This directive sets standards to limit the accidental diffusion by electronic devices of electromagnetic energy in the environment.

Summarizing, the CE brand requires compliance with at least three regulations:

ERP + LDV + EMC = CE

Here are all the other European environmental directives regarding the production, distribution and sale of electronic equipment.

ROHS - Restriction of Hazardous Substances,
sets concentration levels of hazardous substances (heavy metals, PBBs, PBDEs) in electronic equipment or electrical equipment marketed in the EU. A rule that affects any organization engaged in the distribution, production or marketing of these products.

REACH - Registration Evaluation Authorization of Chemicals
, concerning the registration of all substances produced or imported in the European
territory for quantities equal to or greater than one ton per year. It also identifies a list of 15 dangerous substances that must remain within 0.1% of the weight of the appliance.

WEEE - Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, a directive that became necessary to try to solve the problem related to the huge quantities of waste generated by obsolete electronic equipment.
