What I/O modules are and how they work
I-door modules and remote sensors are great solutions for data acquisition in industrial and IoT environments.
I/O modules can connect and analyze a large amount of data by automating business processes: from production to management. Data trasmission is possible throught to fieldbus and the use of data network such as Ethernet. At the same time, I/O modules can output signals that will go to the control devices connected to them.
These modules are equipped with P2P and GCL technology and can, therefore, function as autonomous products for measurement, control, and automation. Thanks to their ease of use, system configurations can also be made in an extremely short time.
I/O modules and MQTT protocol
Digimax has a widw range of Advantech I/O modules that can be connected directly via the cloud to an ERP/MES system using the MQTT (Message Queue Telemetry Transport) protocol.
The MQTT protocol is a simple, lightweight protocol for exchanging messages that requires few resources for the device to handle. Defines the format and order of messages sent and received between network entities; and the actions to be taken following the receipt and/or transmission of data.
Ethernet I/O modules, such as the ADAM-6000 series, are able to capture information from the surrounding environment or within a manufacturing machine flexibly and then transfer it to a gateway for data processing and transfer to the cloud.
