How can I understand power, output voltage and any particular version from the model number of a Mean Well power supply?

Understanding the technical characteristics of a power supply only from the code is quite simple: a few little tricks are enough to interpret it and immediately understand the power, output voltage and any dimming options without having to read all the technical features.

The first part of a model number is always referred to the name of the series, the second part is related to the power, expressed in Watts, the third part instead refers to the output that, in case of industrial power supplies, DIN rail, adapters or DC/DC converters is expressed in Volts because they are produced in constant voltage, while in case of LED drivers is expressed in mA.

The last letter of the code change identifies the product version as ELG, HLG or XLG.

Finally, the letter E indicates all those LED drivers with an economical version, where the input voltage range is narrow to contain costs and offer a high quality and reliable product.
