Mean Well's HEP-1000W series of power supplies completes the family of power supplies for harsh environments. The power supply is fully resin-coated to ensure proper heat dissipation and protection from faults generally caused by dust and high humidity in the environment and, unlike its predecessor the HEP-1000, the wiring is made with water-resistant input and output cables that meet IP67.

1000W industrial power supplies, what are the key features?

The HEP-1000's features allow the power supply to be installed in outdoor equipment or environments with high vibration (10G), 4G / 5G communication equipment, laser machines. The HEP-1000-W series, like its predecessor, is equipped with standard PMBus and CANBus communication protocols and is designed with charging functions and, in addition, with 0 ~ 5 VDC voltage, the output current and voltage can be adjusted with a wide range, voltage from 50% to 125% and current from 20% to 100% (PV/PC function).

Batteries are an extremely popular product at both industrial and consumer level and the trend continues to grow. They are used in electronics and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and also in electric vehicles and for the storage of green energy. There are application-specific models and the charging method is also adapted to the uses. That is why Mean Well has decided to simplify the choice of charger by developing a programmable power supply that offers adjustable charging curves.

Mean Well programmable chargers with SBP-001 programmer offer flexibility and an intuitive interface for adjusting the charging curve. With HEP-1000-48, 48V constant voltage power supply and max. power 1008W, you can enable the charging mode and set the desired curve. The charging voltage and current can therefore be easily adjusted to 36-60V and 3.5-17.5 A respectively.

By selecting the 2-stage charging mode, the HEP-1000 can also be used to charge lithium batteries with the possibility of lowering the charging current to avoid the temperature rise caused by high currents and lowering the voltage to avoid the possibility of overcharging.
