What are the degrees of protection and IP code for Colors LED Strips?

The IP rating (or IP code) is a parameter defined by the international standard IEC 60529, which classifies and evaluates the protection provided by mechanical objects or enclosures against the intrusion of solid particles (usually dust) and the ingress of liquids (usually oil or water). The IP standard is a very important data for all products offered by Digimax, not only for LED strips but also for power supplies, embedded PCs and LED dimmer units, because this value immediately indicates which type of use is possible for a given product: indoor or outdoor.
How is the IP code composed and read?
In general, the IP protection code consists of 2 digits; the first number indicates the level of protection the enclosure provides against access by hazardous parts, while the second digit indicates the level of protection the enclosure provides against access by liquids.
What do the IP ratings for LED strips indicate?
The most common Colors LED Strips for indoor applications are IP20 or IP33; this includes all solutions that do not have to operate in particularly harsh environments.
Among the most extreme cases are Waterproof LED Strips for outdoor use, characterized by a degree of protection IP65 or IP67; these LED strips are completely resin-coated and can guarantee maximum protection against solids and liquids.
